Hi Chris,
I was googling the internet to find some information on Acer's monitor.exe and found your post at: http://www.yoshi.us/forums/showthread.php?t=19398
I just had my Acer TravelMate 3002 re-partitioned for Linux and found the same problem as yours. I would like to ask if you had found any more information on this process, and after you renamed the file, does it affect your system in anyway.

Thanks in advance,

Krissda P.

mr.kris, i assume you've bookmarked this and are checking back, as you didnt leave me an email to contact you at.
untill 2 weeks ago i found that renaming acer's crappy eRecovery app Monitor.exe, has worked perfectly. no flaws AT ALL. works perfect and fast, and the process doesnt start so it cant hog cpu use.

the problem i came across 2 weeks ago was nothing to do with the app, but a power surge. knocked out my power controller on the laptop, or might have even fried the entire motherboard. still waiting on acer repair to come and get the laptop to fix it :/
happy linuxing!

Hi Chris,
I'm glad I didn't forget to bookmark your site. Thanks for your reply, after renaming the file, I've been using it without problem ever since. :-)
